Zimbabwe and Employment

About 80% of people in Zimbabwe are UNEMPLOYED.

This is mainly due to the country's involvement in the war in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which caused severe problems with Zimbabwe's main source of money and jobs; farming.

Many of the country's economic problems, including its abnormally high unemployment rate, are blamed on its president, Robert Mugabe. On Mugabe's 85th birthday, with Zimbabwe's economy in the toilet, he threw himself an extravagant party. At this event, he forced all whites to vacate their farms, but rather than giving the land to the black farmers who needed it, he gave it to his close friends.
